REBIRTH: THE DARING AND DOUBTS OF A NEW BEGINNING

The start of another year, the excitement of new beginnings, an opportunity to travel in a different trajectory in our lives and within ourselves. . .

I’m hosting a new SoulCollage® workshop on Friday, Feb. 7 called “Rebirth: The Daring and Doubts of a New Beginning.” Held at a private home in Burnaby, BC, this event is aimed at those who are already familiar with the SoulCollage® process and want to explore their cards more deeply.

An important requirement for this workshop: You will need to bring a Source card, plus at least four other SoulCollage cards (ideally, there’d be one from each of the four suits, but that’s not necessary). These can be done on any 5 x 8 cardboard; they do not have to be on matte board. If you have any questions about this, please email or call me at 604-886-6520 or at 1-800-601-5611. Introduction to SoulCollage®
If you saw a table full of images – animals, landscapes, children, a laughing face or a fearful body – which ones would draw your attention? Which ones would represent you? How would you combine them to symbolize your Warrior or Crone self or your playful spirit?
Join SoulCollage Facilitator® Heather Conn as she uses fun, hands-on exercises to introduce the intuitive process of SoulCollage®, created by Seena Frost of California. This insightful practice draws on the power of symbols to awaken your creative spirit and portray aspects of your inner self, what Carl Jung called “sub-personalities.”
You’ll discover ways to celebrate those who have shaped your life and honour all parts of yourself – even those traits you’d rather not acknowledge. SoulCollage invites you to see how connected you are to the global community: we all share fear, joy, love, and a myriad of habits.

Here’s what workshop participants say about Heather’s SoulCollage sessions:

“Heather, you are an awesome facilitator! I thoroughly enjoyed being a participant. I certainly enjoyed your style and passion for SoulCollage®; your passing it onto others was very evident from start to finish. The meditation was a real gift.” — Rhonda

“I came away with confirmation that SoulCollage® is a powerful tool for healing and growth. . .I was surprised how freeing it was to comment on the images. . .I found the workshop was a good balance of information, creating cards and building conversation about our faith journeys. I liked that each time we returned to the circle there were new and different cards to look at. . .I would recommend you as a facilitator.” — Leslie

“I can’t thank you enough for inviting me to this doubly wonderful workshop of Labyrinth and SoulCollage. The combination of the two, labyrinth walking and the making of cards, was very fulfilling, healing, synchronizing and energizing. . . Walking the two labyrinths and making my three SoulCollage cards gave me the answer to something that has bothered me for years. The tools you both presented helped me to receive the Higher Guidance I so needed. I’ll never forget what was gifted to me.” – M.C.

It [New Beginnings] was a wonderful workshop and an inspiring day — everything I had hoped it would be and more. If you love collaging, personal development, and self-discovery, you won’t be disappointed. Heather is a superb facilitator, who I would highly recommend. I look forward to spending another full workshop day with her in the near future.” — Brenda Blackburn, Owner and Principal Facilitator, www.DiscoveryFacilitation

It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything like this. It was fun and I enjoyed listening to everyone’s insights. I am hoping to continue making these collages while I plumb deeper depths.” — Mandy

“I found the presentations at the end to be very rich. I loved seeing what others created with the pictures that were once just sitting on the table. It is as if they came alive. I feel as though I have thousands of pictures that have been waiting to be birthed. I thought I was supposed to paint them . . .Now I am excited that I can just cut and paste!” — Dana

“I loved thinking about all of the aspects of self, communicating with people at the table, choosing the images. Great venue. Time went by so fast. Really enjoyed it.” — Petrina

“The entire experience has been extremely meaningful for me: the meditation, putting my critic to sleep, allowing me to open up to endless possibilities. . .It’s okay to be me, all of me.”

“You are very calm, approachable and friendly. Very pleasant manner of teaching.” — Linda

“I think you have an effective way of presenting your ideas and an openness to listening and allowing others to question and share. Thank you for helping me open windows to my soul.” — Cathy

SoulCollage in the workplace
SoulCollage is an ideal way for employees to celebrate themselves and reinforce the strengths that they bring to their work. They can also explore aspects of their personality that might hinder on-the-job performance or relationships with co-workers. It is a fun, creative form of self-discovery, presented in a supportive, non-threatening way.
During these challenging economic times of career transition and job uncertainty, SoulCollage can help people access their deeper selves and bring out buried passions and interests. This can help lead to exciting new work opportunities or enrich their current job role.

SoulCollage and mental health
Heather has used the SoulCollage process with mental health clients as an adjunct to her writing program. Since it involves only images, and no words, it activates the intuitive right brain, offering access to a deeper part of ourselves. This invites a freedom of creative expression that can broaden and enrich a client’s self-image.
SoulCollage and healing and recovery work
The personal exploration and self-celebration aspects of SoulCollage are well suited for healing and recovery. Whether creating an Anger or Addict card or ones that represent a vulnerable new self in transition, each participant has support and creative freedom to represent his or her inner growth process and significant life influences.
