This is my Writer Card, which shows me seated in the centre with Alice Walker, the Pulitzer-Prize-winning author, at the right. As one of my Committee Suit cards, this image represents my Writer self and my writing dreams. I AM ONE WHO finds my greatest passion and inspiration in writing, who writes for a living, who feels a deep creative and Soul connection with the act of writing. I am the Dragonfly, the animal guide for my sixth chakra or Third Eye. Part of the Companion Suit, I represent intuition and my deepest wisdom.
This is an image of writer Alice Walker’s signature, which appears on the back of my Writer Card. I felt delighted to speak to such an inspirational author and activist after she did a reading in San Francisco from her latest children’s book. My Historian Card shows San Francisco’s first streetcar (I worked there in 2008 and loved how this picture connects with my photo history book on early public transit). A Committee Suit card, this represents my love of history (and herstory), past work as an oral historian, and my history writing. I AM ONE WHO loves to look into the past through stories and photos.
My Source Card represents the Divine, The Unmanifest, the Mystery. It forms the foundation of all of my other SoulCollage cards. I AM ONE WHO sees, knows, creates and infuses all of life within and beyond.
My Labyrinth Card shows the pattern of the Chartres Cathedral labyrinth in France. My husband Frank and I got married in a labyrinth of this design. A Council Suit card, the labyrinth is an archetypal symbol of renewal, & for me, everlasting love. I AM ONE WHO walks a labyrinth for self-discovery & healing.
My Witness Self card represents the wise, nonjudgmental part of my inner consciousness or Higher Self. I AM ONE WHO is aware of my connection to the Whole.
